The Oyo State commissioner for youths and sports, Hon. Seun Fakorede led the Screening Committee yesterday to interview the candidates who have been successfully shortlisted for the Reconstitution of the 2nd Assembly of the Oyo State Youth Parliament.

This is in furtherance to the advertisement that was made on April 23, 2021 based on the approval of the Governor of the State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde for the Reconstitution.

The Youth Parliament is part of the commitment of the State Government to ensure that Youths are given a place in decision-making as this will help prepare them for the task of governance and community development ahead.

Present as members of the committee are the Special Adviser on Youth & Sports, Mr. Kazeem Bolarinwa, Special Adviser on Student Affairs, Mr. Victor Olojede, Representatives of the OYHA, NDLEA, NOA, NYCN, Directors of the Agency for Youth Development and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, then Mr. Michael Ogunsina, the PDP Youth Leader as an observer.

This exercise will continue tomorrow and next so as to adequately screen all the candidates. The successful candidates will then be pronounced and their inauguration conducted afterwards.
