Oyo State Government in collaboration with security agencies set to protect lives of citizens of the state ahead of Christ for All Nations (CfaN) crusade by Evangelist Kolenda which starts on Thursday, 11th November, 2021.
This was made known on Tuesday by the Executive Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Administration and General Service, Reverend Idowu Ogedengbe while meeting with all heads and representatives of security agencies held at Head of Service Conference Room, Secretariat, Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
Ogedengbe was quoted as saying that CfaN team is in Ibadan to host a crusade at this time under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde is a huge favour from the Lord. He added that the crusade will definitely put Oyo State on global spotlight and attract foreign investors.
“This is not the first time that CfaN will be organising similar crusades in Ibadan. It has held crusades here in years 2001 and 2009.
“This is however the first crusade to be held in Nigeria after passage of the founding visioner for the ministry, Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke.
“We consider the fact that the CfaN team is coming to Ibadan to host a crusade at this time under the administration of His Excellency Engineer Seyi Makinde (FNSE), as the Governor of Oyo State, as a huge favour from the Lord.
“The program which will be over a four-day period from November 11th to 14th, 2021 will be putting Oyo State under global spotlight and is already attracting several foreign visitors to the city. Apart from foreign visitors, there will also be guests from around the nation and some cities in Africa coming to grace the occasion.
“This event confers both spiritual and economic gains. We expect blessings on our people and land through divine intervention and manifestation. We also expect the influx of people into our city to affect our economic fortune positively as visitors patronize our hotels, markets and other businesses. A sizeable amount of the perishable items and other utilities to be used at the Crusade were purchased from our local sellers here.
“That the Crusade is taking place at this time in our city despite the security challenges that we have been confronted with as a nation in the recent past, is indeed a show of confidence and trust in the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, particularly his various policies towards securing lives and properties.
“Meanwhile, we thank God and the medical authorities that the devastating effect of the COVID-19 pandemic has been significantly stemmed through effective testing and vaccination mechanisms. However, we still advise that the COVID-19 precautionary protocols be adhered to.
“There is therefore the need for all hands to be on deck towards providing adequate security of lives and properties before, during and immediately after the event is over and all our visitors leave our city safely.
“We have been enjoying the professional services of men and officers of the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, Amotekun, OYRTMA, FRSC, DSS etc. since we started preparing the Crusade ground and moved various equipment to site. They were also with us at the dedication of the Crusade Ground which took place last Sunday November 07, 2021.
“This meeting therefore was convened with a view to having a final briefing and forging a synergy among the various agencies that will be providing security oversight as well as managing the flow of traffic in and around the venue of the Crusade.”
