All hell broke loose as army officers from 244 Recce Base, Saki on Wednesday morning, caused chaos on officials of Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA), in Saki, Oke Ogun area of Oyo State.

It was gathered that the said army officer who was not in uniform was reported to have violated traffic rules and his vehicle was apprehended in the process by OYRTMA officers who were on duty.

The army officer who got infuriated by the action of the OYRTMA’s officer, went to reinforce other officers, on arriving at the spot where the vehicle was impounded at OYRTMA’s office in Saki, the official who impounded the vehicle was beaten to pulp, patrol van belonging to OYRTMA was destroyed while their office was vandalised.

One of the OYRTMA officers in Saki said the soldier is a notorious officer who usually violate traffic rules, adding that he always ordered the release of any traffic offenders who identify with him.

On his part, the Executive Chairman of OYRTMA, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi confirmed the incident. He condemned the villainous act describing it as barbaric. He assured that justice would be served irrespective of how highly placed such army officer he is.

Fagbemi noted that the OYRTMA officer who was brutalised has been rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
