Exactly one month since the passing of the Soun of Ogbomoso, the former governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao Akala joins his ancestors, aged 71 years old.

Alao-Akala was born on the 3rd of June 1950.  He was the Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government from 1999 to 2002. He was also a deputy Governor before becoming the governor. He contested and won the gubernatorial election in 2007 under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and became the Executive Governor of Oyo State, serving a full term till May 2011.

It was gathered that he passed on in the early hours of today, Wednesday, 12th January, 2021 in his sleep. His dead body has been currently deposited at The Ogbomosho Teaching Hospital, Oyo State.
