The Oyo State Government has promised that it will continue to create a good system for the public and private health sector to deliver quality health services for all and sundry in the State.The Commissioner for Health, Dr Bode Ladipo, who mentioned this at the ‘Tomotiya Initiative Partners’ Coordinating Meeting, held at Ibadan Business School, Ibadan, said the Tomotiya health initiative will enhance maternal and child health care delivery.He said that the government will provide a synergy to link the private health sector with the frame of the state’s organized health system for private facilities to justify the confidence reposed on them by the people.Dr. Ladipo expressed concern over child delivery done by community birth attendants considering its risk and called for increased effort in changing the narrative. The meeting provided an opportunity for the health ministry and its partners to discuss the achievements recorded under the Tomotiya program from the past year and also plan for the new year.The meeting had representatives from WHO, UNICEF, ARIN, APIN, PMI, SOLINA, SAVE THE CHILDREN, NEST 360 amongst others.
