According to the Oyo State Anti-Corruption Agency (OYACA), some staff members of the State Ministry of Lands and Urban Development are currently on trial for allegedly transferring government funds into personal accounts.
The agency has investigated the actions of the said officers in accordance with the statutory provisions that empowered it to investigate matters related to corruption and fraudulent acts discovered by the people, according to a statement signed by the Chairman of OYACA, Honorable Justice EniEsan (rtd.) on Friday and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Additionally, OYACA’s actions helped retrieve money that had been wrongfully taken from Mr. Samson Olasunkanmi for a specific piece of land by some employees of Lagelu Local Government in Ibadan.
Therefore, following the agency’s effective intervention, Mr. Olasunkanmi has been reimbursed.
The suspects have been handled to the State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice for prosecution.
The Honorable Justice took advantage of the occasion to further urge the public to get in touch with OYACA’s Ibadan headquarters or its regional government contact offices if they have any complaints regarding fraudulent crimes committed against them or by government employees.
