Governor Seyi Makinde understands how much it is to the economic development of the State by being a tourist attraction location and has considered the sector as a means of generating income. In international space, travel and tourism contributed about 5.81 trillion dollars to GDP in 2021 according to Statista, and created 289 million jobs. The sector is also liberal, in that it tends to share its dividends with other collaborative industries such as transportation, hospitality, and rental industries.

It is on this note that the Seyi Makinde led administration is set to exploit the tourist potentials of Oyo State and setting it as a focus of generating revenue after the already established agribusiness.

In the bid to actualise this, this administration has flagged off and completed some projects to complement these various tourist locations in the State; such as good road networks and amplified security activities, and has promised a total rejuvenation of the sector come second term of the administration with an official flagoff in this last phase of the first term with the construction of two roads in Ibarapaland.

Tourism will always be a worthy investment, hence the reason to adopt this vision of the Seyi Makinde led administration to make it a major plank of its economic expansion agenda.
