Through its OMITUNTUN Free Health Mission, the Oyo State government has once again provided free medical care to hundreds of traders and artisans in all 33 local government areas of the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun , spoke to the beneficiaries on Wednesday at the Lekan Salami Sport Complex in Adamasingba, Ibadan. He noted that the state government has successfully addressed a number of health challenges faced by its people through the Omituntun free health care programme, adding that the provision of high-quality, free health services to the state’s residents, regardless of their status, is a top priority for the Seyi Makinde-led administration.
However, he urged the artisans to reciprocate the good deed and keep supporting the spectacular Omititun-free health mission after 2023.
The commissioner said that in order to promote the health of the populace, the state government had decided to provide medical services across every nook and cranny of the state.
Dr. Wale Falana, the coordinator of the Omituntun Free Health Mission, informed the state’s residents in his speech that the current administration has given the programme the necessary support to address the people’s distinct health conditions.
The leadership of the state’s artisans and market women commended Governor Seyi Makinde for providing them with the privilege of accessing free health screenings and treatment for their ailments.
The program’s beneficiaries, who underwent several types of health check-ups, received the medical care they needed.
