Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde swore Justice Iyabo Yerima as the new acting state Chief judge at the executive chamber secretariat Ibadan on Monday with the insistence that his administration will ensure continued working governance system despite him seeking re-election.

The governor addressing the audience said:
” I promised the people of Oyo state on May 29th 2019 during my inauguration that I will deliver good governance with no distractions by campaign

” Last week , we were in Oyo for campaign, yet good governance will continue

” Like people say campaign disrupts governance, we are still in good administrative capacity, such as we have seen today appointing Justice Iyabo Yerima as an acting chief judge, so as to fill up the vacancy left by the retired Justice Muktar Abimbola whom I believe is up to the task

” Even after now, we are going to campaign at Akinyele shortly ,yet will never affect good governance in the state”, Makinde said.

Makinde further stated that he would see to it that all necessary judicial infrastructure was put in place, starting with the ongoing renovation of the High Court Complex at Ring Road and the Iyaganku Magistrate Court in the hope that the newly sworn-in chief judge would uphold the high judicial standards set by her predecessor, who was serving in that capacity prior to his retirement.

” We are pledge that we will redeem judicial infrastructural deficit during Omituntun 2.0 administration

” You can see that at Omituntun 1.0 , we have commenced the the rehabilitation of High court Complex at Ring Road and Iyaganku Magistrate Court, though some say the contractors are slow, slowing down is due to fund slowly given to the contractors, but ,there will be better infrastructural delivery “

“I am happy, this administration permits females in its administration especially more from my Constituency,Ibadan North East.

” SSG, Olubamwo Adeosun, Justice Abass, Myself, and now Justice Iyabo Yerima,all of us are from Ibadan North East, let other constituencies be anticipatory”, he concluded.

In her acceptance speech, Justice Iyabo Yerima, the recently sworn-in acting State judge, expressed her gratitude to the state governor for choosing her and her commitment to providing meritorious justice for the state’s continued development.
