THE NEED FOR A RAPID DEVELOPMENT IN OYO STATE IS THE HEART BEAT OF ENGR. SEYI MAKINDE - COMMISSIONER FOR LANDS, HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT

The Hon. commissioner for lands housing and urban development granted an interview on the new air Force Base in AJIA and Ilutuntun house scheme at Agbirigidi in Akinyele local government*

In an interview conducted by the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) for the Hon. Commissioner For Lands, Housing and Urban Development in his office on the issue pertaining to having an Air force base at Ajia, Ona Ara LG and another issue pertaining to some residents in Agbirigidi area of Akinyele local government that are accusing the government of acquiring their land from them.

In his response the Hon. Commissioner said, the establishment of Air force base at Ajia will bring about rapid development to the town and villages around that axis. Not only that, there will be an adequate infrastructural development and employment opportunities mainly to the citizens of Oyo state. He said that it is the effort of Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde who has an insight of developing Oyo State. In this attempt, a lot of GRAs have been put in place in Oyo State like Engr. Lere Adigun GRA, Sen.Rasidi Ladoja GRA, Gov. Alao Akala GRA, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi GRA, and Alhaji Lam Adeshina GRA at Agbirigidi. The Hon. Commissioner said that in an attempt to put up infrastructural development in Oyo State, a land swap of 100 hectares of land have been put in place, getting people who have money to support the projects and put up infrastructural facilities like roads, electricity, good water supply with water reticulation in all the GRAs.

On Agbirigidi land in Akinyele local government, the Hon. Commissioner made it known that this land was acquired for asylum by the government 21 years ago and the asylum has been moved elsewhere now because of the train station presence in that place, he said the government only allowed people to farm on the land and now is the time to use the land for the purpose of economy expansion, The Hon. Commissioner concluded the interview by saying that the need for a rapid development in Oyo State cannot be over emphasized because it is the heart beat of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde.
