The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal has made an on-the-spot inspection to Kishi Rice Mill in Irepo Local Government owned by one of the town business mogul and industrialist, Alhaji Moshood Masoroju.

He made the inspection on Sunday alongside his wife, Chief (Mrs) Ajibola Lawal to the Kishi Rice Mill, which is adjudged the biggest infrastructural company in the Irepo Local Government located along Itesiwaju road, KM 7, Kishi.

Lawal, who was excited by the level of development, stressed that the project which is about 90% completed, will be hopefully commissioned by Oyo State government.

According to him, “I’ve come here to inspect the project, and I am going to intimate His Excellency, ‘Seyi Makinde about the project.”

He commended the investor for the beautiful initiative and for being thoughtful of his town for such a befitting project that will complement the efforts of Oyo State government on job creation, describing the project as the first of its kind in Oyo State.

Lawal noted that Alhaji Masoroju is an industrialist from Kishi and remains one of its pride, assuring that appropriate quarters would be communicated for the commissioning of the project.

He added that the investor is waiting for the factory to be completed on or before June and should be ready for commissioning by the authority of Oyo State.

Speaking earlier, the CEO, Alhaji Moshood Masoroju, who said he had injected over N2.5bn into the project stated that the plant can produce 6-tone per hour, adding that the project is capable of creating employment for over 150 people in direct job and several thousands of others in indirect job.

While stating that the plant can mill both rice and wheat, he emphasised that he employed six technical workers from India as they are seen to have the best rice in the world.

He disclosed that the engineers have been in the town for over six months installing the plant for effective operation.

The investor, who disclosed that he’s also planning to acquire lands for rice mill plantation in the future, further said that the company is currently in collaboration with Agboola farm for the rice production in which the processing would be carried out in the company.

He added that the processing of the rice mill in the town will not only prevent smuggling in the state but will also reduce the price of bag of rice.

He then appealed to federal government to ensure regular supply of electricity in order to reduce the cost of production.
