Pursuant to its transition to sustainable traffic management model in-line with Governor Seyi Makinde’s sustainable development agenda, the Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) has created more operational commands and executed what could be described as a major shakeup in its chain of command as top commanders in the service of the Authority was recently redeployed for “optimized performance”.
This was made known by the Executive Chairman of the Authority, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi Ph.D while addressing top commanders of the agency barely a week after the two-day capacity building workshop on “Sustainable Traffic Management” convened by the Oyo State Government for men and officers of the Authority with the aim of improving service delivery through effective road traffic management across the State.
According to the OYRTMA boss, “This major shakeup is one of our routine operational changes aimed at stamping out complacency and ensuring effective service delivery particularly now that the Authority is moving towards sustainable traffic management in tandem with the second term mantra of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde on Sustainable Development of Oyo State. You may recall that sequel to a 2-day intensive capacity building training facilitated by His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Management has carefully executed a SWOT analysis on our performance under omituntun 1.0 and our Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats has been identified. Thus, this rejig is imperative as it represents a chunk of our strategic action plans to sustainably ease traffic flow, reduce road traffic crashes and make lives much more easier for the good people of Oyo State and even passersby as we approach Omituntun 2.0 and beyond”, Fagbemi said.
