Oyo state government has reiterated its commitment towards ensuring cleanliness of the environment that will attract local and foreign investors into the state.
The government through the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has begun the monitoring and enforcement of environmental laws in the state.
According to the State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Arc. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, despite efforts made by the government, there are still parts of the state where people have not totally complied with proper waste disposal.
He nailed that offenders of the environmental laws would not escape prosecution.
The commissioner who called on residents to desist from dumping refuse indiscriminately, solicited their support to maintain cleanliness of the environment.
As the state government intensifies efforts to ensure a clean, safe and conducive environment, it is therefore imperative for people to strictly abide by the environmental laws and ensure proper waste disposal in their various home
