Oyo State House of Assembly has urged the Executive arm to conduct comprehensive investigation into the abscondment of some staffers of the State government across Ministries and Agencies.
The house made the resolution following a motion presented by Hon. Babajide Adebayo at the floor of the house.
This, according to him, will save government fund and allow injection of new, young graduates into the civil service.
The motion co-sponsored by the speaker, Right Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin (Ibarapa East) and the leader of the house, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin (Ogbomoso South) noted that some of the absconded staffers are still on the payroll across MDAs.
Some lawmakers in their contributions charged the executive arms to put measures in place to conduct comprehensive investigation in curbing the menace and saving public funds.
The plenary also read for the second time the Customary Courts Amendment Bill 2024.
