The Oyo State Government has reiterated its dedication to providing top-notch nursing education in all nursing schools across the state.

Governor Seyi Makinde made this pledge while receiving the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria accreditation team led by its Chief registrar, Dr. Farouk Umar, at the Ministry of Justice conference room State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

Governor Makinde represented by his Deputy, Barrister Bayo-Lawal, acknowledged the global significance of nursing as a profession, assuring adequate provision of necessary facilities, resources, and manpower to enhance the quality of nursing education in the state.

He also promised to implement the law establishing the College of Nursing Sciences with multiple campuses in the state.

The Chief Registrar of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Dr. Umar commended the state government on facilities met on ground at the various nursing schools visited, stating that the visit was aimed to ensure standards and produce competent nurses, and not to find fault.
