Oyo state Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has approved the release of two billion naira to the contractor handling Ido-Eruwa road in a bid to hasten the ongoing project.

The Governor stated this during the groundbreaking ceremony of the 3,250 hectares for Eruwa Agribusiness Industrial Hub.

Governor Makinde noted that the Eruwa Agribusiness industrial hub project would put the zone on world Agric map, as the hub would cover every aspect of agricultural value chain, increase the state economic prospect, attract significant investment opportunities and provide jobs, while assuring that the project would be commissioned before the end of his tenure.

He stated that the Eruwa Hub will have mechanised crop production and livestock ranching facilities, processing and warehouse facilities, a resort to promote agritourism and residential houses for workers.

The Director General, Nigeria country department of the African Development Bank, who is the financier for the project, said the project is in line with the Bank’s vision for transforming rural Africa through investment in agriculture.

The Executive Adviser to the Governor on Agribusiness and the Director General of the state Agribusiness Development Agency, Dr. Debo Akande explained that the 3250 hectares Eruwa Agribusiness industrial hub is an over 50 million dollars investment opportunity that would contribute to moving the state from subsistence to industrial agriculture.

The Speaker, the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin said the industrial hub would serve as a legacy project for him after his tenure
