A total of 406 petitions have been received by the Oyo State Anti-Corruption Agency (OYACA) petitions from government departments, institutions and individuals on cases of corruption since the agency’s formation.
The OYACA Chairman, Retired Justice Eni Esan, stated this during a press conference to commemorate 2024 International Anti-Corruption Day.
Justice Eni Esan revealed that out of the 406 petitions received by the Agency, 204 have been thoroughly investigated and concluded.
She further noted that seven cases have been forwarded to the Oyo State Attorney General for prosecution, while 13 individuals are currently facing trial in the law court.
Justice Esan added that the agency has successfully secured convictions against civil servants involved in various corrupt practices and has also assisted individuals in recovering significant sums of money from fraudulent civil servants.
