Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has extended his warmest wishes to Christians in the state, urging them to use the Christmas celebration as an opportunity to spread love and pray for the state and Nigeria.
In his Christmas message, Governor Makinde encouraged residents to gather and celebrate responsibly, ensuring necessary crowd control measures are in place and involving security agencies when needed. He also remembered those mourning the loss of loved ones in the recent stampede, praying that God will console them and grant them the strength to bear their loss.
To ensure a safe and secure celebration, Governor Makinde charged residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious movements to security agencies through the State Emergency Number 615, reiterating the importance of community vigilance: “If you see something, say something, and the government will do something.”
As the festive season unfolds, Governor Makinde’s message serves as a reminder of the values of love, compassion, and community that define the spirit of Christmas
