The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde conducted an inspection visit to the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub in preparation for the visit of the President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio.

Governor Makinde was joined on the visit by the Director General of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Dr. Simeon Ehui, and his associate, Nigel Pickard.

The visit to the Farm was geared towards assessing the readiness of the facility ahead of the high-profile visit.

westernmirror.com.ng reports that the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub has remained a key component of Governor Makinde’s economic development agenda.

It focuses on modernizing agriculture, boosting food production, and creating employment opportunities in Oyo State.

Speaking on the inspection, Governor Makinde in a post on his official Facebook page, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening partnerships that enhance the state’s agribusiness sector.

The visit of President Bio according to the governor, is expected to further discussions on agricultural investments and cooperation between Oyo State and Sierra Leone.

This online newspaper understands that Governor Makinde’s administration has prioritized agribusiness as a major driver of economic growth, investing in large-scale farm projects and promoting collaborations with international institutions such as the IITA.

In the governor’s entourage during the visit were the Director General of Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA) and the Executive Assistant on Special Duties; Chief Bayo Lawal
