Current available data by the Nigerian Bureau of statistics (NBS) has shown that the Governor Seyi Makinde administration’s economic polices are paying off for the residents of the pacesetter state. Oyo state came third in VAT generation across the country with 272.41billion. This means that residents of Oyo state spent money on goods and services next only to Lagos and Rivers state. VAT is a sales tax and also an indication of the economic health of a state. Not only is Oyo state high in consumption, the state is the third lowest in food inflation rate in the country. This is a pointer to the benefit of the agricultural intervention of the current administration. While Adamawa has the lowest inflation rate with 12.2% , Oyo state is 15.5% next to Ondo state with 13.7%. Seyi is working, Oyo state is working.
