The Chairman of Oyo State chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Reverend Samson Ajetomobi, has said that the merit system emplaced by the Seyi Makinde’s administration in Oyo State will improve the quality of the workforce in the state in the near future.
Speaking in an interview, the clergyman said by allowing merit to play a pivotal role in the recruitment and appointment of people into critical sectors of the state, Governor Makinde is preparing the state for a great future.
Reverend Ajetomobi said, “One of the things Governor Makindehas done even in employment procedure in Oyo State is to make place for merit. We were not doing that before in the state. Now, people write exams, they have cut-off points. It doesn’t matter what religious affiliation you belong to. The question is do you meet the cut-off point. If you meet the cut-off point, you are good to go. If you don’t meet up the cut-off point, too bad. It doesn’t matter whether you are a Christian or a Muslim. The implication of this principle is that in the near future, the quality of the workforce in Oyo State would have been largely improved because there are criteria that brought everyone on board.”
According to the PFN Chairman, God has helped Governor Makinde to put in place legacy projects across the state.
He said, “His commitment to infrastructure development is obvious everywhere. If you enter Oyo State, you will feel the impact of a working governor.”
Reverend Ajetomobi lauded the governor for ensuring peaceful coexistence among the different religious groups in the state through his fairness to all
