The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on Thursday, held a breakfast meeting with top executives of Ellipse Projects, the implementing partner for the €55 million healthcare funding from the French Government.

The meeting has in attendance, the Chief Executive Officer of Ellipse Projects, Mr. Stephane Terranova, and the company’s Vice President, Mr. Jean-Claude Girma. Governor Makinde disclosed that the engagement focused on the next steps for the healthcare infrastructure project, which aims to significantly upgrade health facilities across the state.

The agreement for the healthcare project was signed in January 2023 between the Oyo State Government and Ellipse Projects. According to Governor Makinde, while the French Government has since released the funds, the review process by the Federal Government has caused some delays due to the uniqueness of the funding being dedicated solely to Oyo State.

Governor Makinde, however, assured residents that the state is nearing the completion of the review process and that full-scale project implementation is expected to commence shortly. The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare services through strategic international partnerships.
