Ibadan, May 2, 2025 — The Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transport has announced a temporary closure of the road between Elewure Junction and Sango in Ibadan. The closure, which will take place from 10:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, is to facilitate the installation of a new level crossing on the Sango rail line as part of ongoing road construction activities in the area.
According to a public service announcement issued by Prof. Dahud Kehinde Sangodoyin, the Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, the move is necessary to ensure the safe and efficient completion of infrastructure improvements along the Mokola–Sango corridor.
Residents, commuters, and all road users in the affected area are strongly advised to plan ahead and use alternative routes during the period of closure. The government has expressed regret over any inconvenience this may cause and assures the public of its commitment to improving transportation infrastructure across the state.
Motorists are urged to cooperate with traffic management officials and adhere to all diversion signs for a smooth transition during the temporary disruption.
