The Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, has compared the progressive leadership style of the late Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala with that of Governor Seyi Makinde and concluded that they are similar in many ways.

Prince Oyelade who worked closely with the administration of the two governors stated this at the 75th posthumous birthday ceremony of Governor Alao-Akala held in Ogbomoso.

At the event which was commemorated with the construction of a new Primary Health Care Centre (PHC) at Yaku community, Ogbomoso, the Information Commissioner appreciated the legendary consistency of the Alao-Akala clan to the development of Ogbomosoland.

“The support given to the construction of the new Primary Health Care Centre (PHC) at Yaku today, is a continuation of what Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala would have done whether he was in government or out of government.” Oyelade said.

“It is on record that the Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital was the brainchild of the former Governor, and the fact that it took another progressive Governor, in person of Governor Seyi Makinde to effect the full ownership of the whole LAUTECH entity is not a coincidence.

“They are two of a kind when it comes to policies that touch on the vulnerable.

“Recall that Governor Makinde had informed former Governor Akala that he was going to flag off the construction of the Akala Express Way a few months before he passed on.

“No mutual respect can be more than that.

“For the avoidance of doubt, it was Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala that began the renovation of the Adeoyo State Hospital in 2008, which is another example of his passion for healthcare delivery.

Emphasizing the legacy of the present administration in Oyo State, Prince Oyelade applauded Governor
Makinde for advancing the legacy of the late Governor Alao-Akala.

“While it can be said that the present administration in Oyo State has increased the number of healthcare centres considerably, focus on healthcare centres actually received major boost under Alao-Akala between 2007 and 2011, and what the Seyi Makinde administration has done is to perfect that policy by targeting 351 PHCs, one centre per each electoral ward by 2027 and as I talk to you 212 have been completed.”

Also at the event, the commissioner also praised the Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, Orumogẹgẹ III, for introducing landmark developmental agenda for the growth of Ogbomosoland.

“Honour must be given to whom it is due and the Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty, Ọba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogẹgẹ III, deserves all the accolades for not only thinking out of the box, but for also cementing the foundation of a life-changing 25-year development plan for our community.

“May God continue to strengthen our Monarch and continue to give him the wisdom to actualize a dream that will place Ogbomosoland as a hub of excellence globally.”
