The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Oyo state has announced the restriction on movements within Ibadan North Federal Constituency, beginning from 12:00 midnight on Saturday prior to the 16th August, 2025 bye election.
The affected border areas include: Sango-Eleyele-Apete-ljokodo, U.I/Agbowo/Agbowo Express, Beere/Oje/Odoye.
Others are Gate/Basorun/Ashi, Mokola and Adamasingba Axis.
Speaking at a media briefing at its Oyo state headquarters, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Adeniran Tella said there will also be restriction on movement in Twelve (12) Registration Areas and Wards which included Islamic Mission Primary School, Odoye; St Stephen Primary School, Inalende; Salvation Army Primary School Yernetu; Methodist Primary School, NTA; Ikolaba High School, Ikolaba; St Gabriel Grammar School, Mokola.
Others are St Louis Grammar School, Mokola, Chesire High School, Ijokodo; C&S New Eden Primary School, Mokola; Immanuel College Primary School, Samonda and Methodist Primary School, Bodija.
He said “There are 512 Polling Units with 272, 196 registered voters expected to participate in the upcoming Bye-Election. However, about 217, 980 have so far collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
“A total number of 2,062 Poll Officials will be employed for the coming election.
Dr. Tella explained that all the non-sensitive materials have been received and deployed to the concerned LGA while collection of sensitive materials would be done on Thursday 14th August, 2025 at the Central Bank, in the presence of all Political Parties and Security Agencies.
