The Oyo State Executive Council, presided over by the Acting Governor, His Excellency Barr. Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal, on Tuesday approved a series of multi-billion-naira projects cutting across infrastructure, sports, and environmental development.

Top on the list is the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the 13.6 km Ojoo Interchange–IITA–Moniya Junction–Akinyele Interchange road, with spurs to the New Oyo Expressway, Ibadan, at a cost of ₦63.61 billion. The dual carriageway, designed with six lanes, is expected to be delivered within 18 months.

Also approved is the reconstruction of the 30 km Okaka Junction–Otu–Igbojaiye–KAP Film Village Road, alongside the construction of bridges across Otu and Ofiki Rivers, at a cost of ₦26.48 billion, with a completion timeline of 18 months.

In Ibadan, the Council sanctioned the dualisation of the 6.2 km Ajia Junction (Ibadan-Ife Interchange)–Nigeria Air Force Base Road for ₦17.18 billion, to be completed in 12 months.

Similarly, the Isaba-Ogundoyin Road in Eruwa (0.75 km) and the Lanlate Garage Junction–Local Government Junction–Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic–Oke Ola Junction Road, Eruwa (1.9 km) are set for reconstruction at a cost of ₦4.14 billion, with a 12-month completion period.

The ExCo also approved the completion of the ongoing 12 km Apete–Awotan–Akufo Road reconstruction, with an expansion of scope to include the 2.2 km Akufo Farm Settlement Road, at a cost of ₦1.93 billion and Planting of economic trees on both sides of the 32 km (South East Wing) of the 110 km Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road, Ibadan for the sum of N108,044,103.50
