Several people are feared dead following a powerful gas explosion that rocked the Bioku-Alaadun area of Ibadan, Ona Ara Local Government Area on Friday night.
Residents said a deafening blast shook the entire neighbourhood, triggering panic as flames spread rapidly and several buildings suffered severe structural damage. Some homes reportedly collapsed under the force of the explosion.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene, searching through debris for survivors. Many residents remain unaccounted for, heightening concerns that the casualty figure could rise as rescue operations continue.
