The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, is set to elevate nine chiefs in the Otun Olubadan line this Friday, covering ranks from Jagun to Ayingun.
The announcement was made on Wednesday in a statement issued by the Olubadan’s media aide, Adeola Oloko.
According to the palace, the promotion ceremony expected to draw members of the Olubadan-in-Council will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Oke-Aremo Palace, Ibadan.
Prominent among those to be elevated are:
Chief Olumuyiwa Makinde, Ibadan-based legal practitioner and elder brother to the Oyo State Governor, advancing from Aare Onibon to Gbonka Olubadan.
Chief Dotun Sanusi, distinguished engineer and business magnate, rising from Ajia to Bada Olubadan.
Chief Akin Alabi, federal lawmaker, moving from Jagun to Ajia Olubadan.
The palace, however, noted that promotions from Mogaji to Jagun Olubadan remain suspended until further notice.

1. Chief Dauda Kolawole Gbadamosi — Aare Ago ➝ Ayingun Olubadan
2. Chief William Oyeleke Akande — Lagunna ➝ Aare Ago Olubadan
3. Chief Oluyinka Akande — Oota ➝ Lagunna Olubadan
4. Chief Olufemi Taofeek Ogunwale — Aare-Egbe Omo ➝ Oota Olubadan
5. Chief Wasiu Aderoju Alaadorin — Gbonka ➝ Aare-Egbe Omo Olubadan
6. Chief Abiola Iyiola Anlamole — Bada ➝ Aare Onibon Olubadan
