The Oyo State Government has flagged off the disbursement of three billion naira as gratuities and death benefits to retired local government staff and primary school teachers .

The initiative is aimed at improving the welfare of pensioners across the state.

The exercise, organized by the Local Government Staff Pension Board, would be conducted across all zones of Oyo state, including Ibadan, Oyo, Ogbomoso, Ibarapa, Oke-Ogun One, and Oke-Ogun two.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Board, Hon. Akeem Ige, said the disbursement has brought relief and renewed hope to beneficiaries who had long awaited their entitlements.

He disclosed that over one thousand retirees would benefit from the current phase, with payments to be extended across all zones of the state.

Hon. Ige also advised beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds, particularly in addressing their health needs.
