The wife of the Oyo State Governor, Engr Tamunominini Makinde has called on wives of Local Government Chairmen in the State to be proactive and intentional in the war against Gender Based Violence.
Engr Makinde made the call while hosting wives of Local Government Chairmen in the state from across the 33 Local Government Areas in the state, to address issues affecting women in the state. Addressing the women, Mrs Makinde said issues such as women representation, child abuse, gender-based violence and women empowerment at the grassroot is key, hence the need for the wives of the council chairmen to be up and doing.
Mrs Makinde also hinted that in the last four years, wives of Local Government Chairmen have been able to embark on consistent campaigns against Gender based violence.
