The Oyo state government today, Thursday December 19th, 2024 arraigned before the Magistrate Court in Iyaganku, a suspect alleged to have killed an Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) officer, Fabunmi Kehinde, at UI-Agbowo on December 14, 2024.Oyo room discounts
The suspect, Ifeoluwa Ologbese, 28 years, was arraigned on a three-count charge.
The charge sheet read:
COUNT I: That you Ifeoluwa Ologbese ‘m’ ON 14/12/2024 at about 16:00hrs along UI sango Road in the Ibadan Magisterial district being the driver in charge of 4matic Benz 350 with Reg No: LSD 862 JS drove dangerously without due regards to other road users, and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 18 of the RTA cap 148 Vol (V) laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000;Oyo room discounts
COUNT II: That you Ifeoluwa Ologbese ‘m’ on the same date, time, and place in the aforementioned Magisterial district drove the same vehicle recklessly by disobeying traffic the light and hit one Fabunmi Kehinde who was on official duty to co-ordinate the process thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 36(i)(1) and 98 (f) Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000;
COUNT III: That you Ifeoluwa Ologbese ‘m’ on the same date, time, and place in the aforementioned Magisterial district drove the same vehicle in a dangerous manner having no regard to all circumstances of other road users and caused the death of one Fabunmi Kehinde an officer with OΥRTΜΑ Oyo State and thereby committed an offence contrary to an punishable under Section 25(1) of RTA Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000.
The prosecutor read the charge to the accused, and he pleaded not guilty.
The chief magistrate, Iyaganku, Mrs. Ogunkanmi granted the accused bail in the sum of N2.5m and 2 sureties in like sum.
One of the sureties must own landed property within the Magisterial district, while the other must be a blood relation.
She therefore adjourned the matter till 27th of March, 2025.
In another development, a young man with black 4matic Benz, BDJ375FS, has been apprehended for directional violation (one way drive) in Ibadan metropolis.
He was also accused of harrasing OYRTMA officials and will be arraigned in court.
