Rofiat Lawal, Taiwo Liadi, and Mary Osijo have been congratulated by the Oyo State Government for their respective feats attained during the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

They were described as a motivation to the entire youths in Oyo State by the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Seun Fakorede, who also added that they are models worth emulating.

The Commissioner also added that the present administration of the State Government led by Governor Seyi Makinde, will not stop investing in youths and sport development to encourage more in the sector.

“Your victory has not just put Nigeria on the global map in the world of sports but Oyo State also”, he said.

The three athletes are weightlifters; Rofiat Lawal, Taiwo Liadi, and Mary Osijo, who won Gold, Silver and Bronze respectively.
