In a bid to rid the Old Oyo National Park of illegal activities of hunting, fishing, mining and cattle grazing which tend to disrupt the park’s conservation and protection mandate, the Conservator of Park, Mr Teslim Adeniyi – Kareem has said that eleven illegal miners have been prosecuted and convicted, apart from others like hunters and cattle grazers, who are at various stages of prosecution.

 

 

Giving insight into some arrests made while parading seven suspects, the Conservator of Park said the paraded suspects would soon be arraigned in court along with the roasted animals killed in the park, guns and swords found in their possession.

 

 

 

The Conservator of Park, who appreciated the logistic support provided by the Conservator General of the National Park Service, Dr Ibrahim Musa Goni also called for cooperation of the host communities in Oyo State to enable the park to actualise its objectives.
