The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso has retained its position as the best State-owned university in Nigeria, a position it has held on to for the past two years.
The latest ranking confirmation was published by the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings in January 2024 publication.
Governor Seyi Makinde in a statement, recalled that LAUTECH for 11 years, lost its glory and was compromised for political gains.
He noted however that since his administration came on board, the fortunes of the university changed radically.
Governor Makinde further said LAUTECH’s turnaround was further consolidated by his administration’s successful efforts to secure sole ownership of the institution by negotiating an eight-billion-naira severance agreement with Osun State.
He said this enabled his Government to realize the vision of establishing the Faculty of Agriculture & Renewable Science in Iseyin last year.
