The Oyo State Government under the Seyi Makinde led administration has commenced a fresh verification exercise for property owners affected by the first phase of the Senator Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road in Ibadan who are yet to receive compensation.
Chairman of the monitoring committee overseeing compensation payments, Sunday Odukoya, disclosed on Monday that the exercise is designed to identify and document more than 900 individuals who were not captured during the earlier compensation process.
It will be recalled that the state government had, on April 22, 2026, approved N5.8 billion as an additional tranche for compensating affected property owners, supplementing earlier disbursements made to hundreds of beneficiaries impacted by the major road project.
Odukoya explained that, effective Monday, April 27, 2026, affected individuals from the first phase of the 110-kilometre circular road project who were previously omitted are expected to visit either the Ministry of Lands or the Office of the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Security—who also chairs the verification committee—to confirm their inclusion.
He outlined that claimants must present relevant documentation, including proof of identification such as a local government identification letter or residence permit (for non-indigenes), survey plans, property or farmland drawings, photographs, land purchase agreements, and sworn affidavits from a court or the Ministry of Justice.
Additional requirements include a power of attorney (where applicable), passport photographs of both claimants and guarantors, National Identification Numbers (NIN), valid means of identification for guarantors, and complete bank details. Claimants are also advised to provide any further documentation deemed necessary by the monitoring team, alongside a letter of recommendation from their respective landlord associations within the affected areas.
