The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has complied with the court’s directive to present the former Governor of the Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele, in court for the bail application hearing.

Emefiele, who had been held by security agencies for 149 days, was released unconditionally as ordered by Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, or alternatively, was brought to court for his bail application.

Wearing a yellow Kaftan and a cap, accompanied by EFCC officials, the former CBN Governor arrived at the courtroom around 12:30 pm. Justice Adeniyi reaffirmed his earlier order, stating that the detained former CBN Governor must appear in court on November 8 for the bail hearing.
