Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has signed into law, Oyo State Project Monitoring Agency Bill 2024 into law.
The bill was signed on Tuesday at the Governor’s office, Agodi, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Governor Makinde, who announced that the agency will be headed by the Executive Assistant Project Monitoring, Engr. Open Salawu and assisted by the Senior Special Assistant on Project Delivery, Oluwaseun Laurel, said the agency being an important part of project execution should not be on a disjointed basis.
According to him, the new agency will work to ensure that Oyo State gets value for public funds spent on projects.
In his words, “Earlier today, I signed the Oyo State Project Monitoring Agency Bill of 2024 into law. We believe that project monitoring, being an important part of project execution should not be on a disjointed basis. This new agency will work to ensure that Oyo State gets value for public funds spent on projects.
“In my remarks, I thanked members of the Oyo State House of Assembly for their collaboration with our administration to ensure that the Oyo State Government continues to deliver good governance to our people.
“The new agency will be headed by the Executive Assistant Project Monitoring and assisted by the Senior Special Assistant on Project Delivery.”
