In line with the quality healthcare delivery in Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde is set to commission a state-of-the-art solarized Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Medical oxygen Plant at the Jericho Specialist Hospital on May 29th, 2024.
The Medical Oxygen Plant which is capable of producing 300 liters per minute is situated in the Heart of Jericho Specialist Hospital. Also to be commissioned alongside the oxygen plant within the same premises includes;
The Newborn Unit and Kangaroo Mother Care Room.
Launching of Oyo State Strategy for the Scale-up of Medical Oxygen in Health Facilities (2024-2028)
The commissioning exercise is part of lined-up activities to mark the 5th year anniversary of Governor Seyi Makinde and Omituntun 2.0 in office.
The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi who expressed her delight at such a remarkable achievement by the Omituntun 2.0 in the health sector, said the Oxygen Plant will serve the health sector in Oyo State. She described the solarized Oxygen plant as the first of its kind in Nigeria.
Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi applauded the health partners in the State for their collaboration with the government in ensuring the success of the projects.
“Partners like UNICEF, the Government of Canada and Norway, lHS Towers, Bill& Melinda Gates Foundation, have all contributed to this great feat attained in the Health sector in the State”, she said.
The commissioning is expected to be graced by His Excellency, The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal, top government functionaries, and other political stalwarts in the State.
