Oyo State House of Assembly has approved Governor Seyi Makinde’s request to seek for the release of the state entitlement on the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) from the federal government.
The request was contained in a letter forwarded by the governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde to the House of Assembly and read by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Muhammed Fadeyi, who presided over the plenary session on Thursday.
The House gave the approval after the motion was moved by the Majority Leader, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin and Seconded by the Chief Whip, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola.
Governor Seyi Makinde, in the letter appeal to the Federal Government to authorize the Federal Ministry of Finance to release the state entitlement from the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) from 1999 to date.
In his letter, Governor Seyi Makinde disclosed further that the entitlement, when released will enable the state to utilize it for various developmental projects, infrastructure and interventions in the state.
Passing the resolution of the House, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Muhammed Fadeyi, therefore, granted the approval as requested by the governor, Engr Seyi Makinde.
The Deputy Speaker expressed the readiness of the state House of Assembly to align with the executive arm of government on ideas, principles and policies that will bring development to the state.
