The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has issued a stern warning to its members, cautioning them against actions, meetings, or statements that could undermine the party’s efforts to reclaim power in the 2027 elections.

This comes amid reports that two prominent APC figures; Chief Niyi Akintola (SAN) and Chief Akinade Fijabi publicly commended Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, raising concerns over possible ties with the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement released on Wednesday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, the Oyo APC declared it would no longer tolerate disloyalty, sabotage, or indiscipline from members allegedly motivated by self-interest.

“Only selfishness and a lack of discipline could drive any APC member to promote a PDP government that has squandered public funds on frivolities for six years,”

the statement read. “It is unacceptable for so-called party chieftains to engage in such irresponsible behaviour while still claiming allegiance to our party.”

The APC accused certain members of repeatedly undermining the party’s unity, particularly during critical moments. The party’s state executive, led by Olayide Abas, has reportedly worked to foster reconciliation and stability, with growing numbers of influential figures joining its ranks.

“We will not allow anyone to derail our progress,”Sadare warned. “While we will address these matters democratically, every member must align with our mission to secure victory in 2027.”
