Pensioners across Oyo State have demonstrated uncommon appreciation and solidarity by collectively contributing funds to purchase a massive white horse for the Executive Governor of the state, Engineer Seyi Makinde, whom they described as a true son of the land and a genuine lover of pensioners’ welfare.
The symbolic presentation, carried out by representatives of pensioners from across the state, was aimed at appreciating Governor Makinde’s people-oriented governance, particularly his consistent commitment to the welfare, dignity and timely payment of pensions and gratuities since assuming office.
Speaking during the presentation, the pensioners lauded the governor for restoring hope to retirees who had long endured hardship, noting that his administration has given them a renewed sense of belonging and respect.
In a strong show of loyalty and confidence in his leadership, the pensioners unanimously assured Governor Makinde of their unwavering support, declaring that wherever he goes in 2027, they will follow him.
According to them, the gesture was not just a gift, but a powerful symbol of gratitude, trust and belief in Governor Makinde’s vision for Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
Governor Makinde, while appreciating the pensioners for the honour and show of love, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to policies that prioritise the welfare of senior citizens and all residents of the state.
