Long queues have resurfaced at most filling stations in Ibadan and its environs, with the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petrol, now selling between N1,020 and N1,080 per litre in Ibadan.
The increase is now having a multiplier effect on intra-state transport fares.
Transport fares from one location to another have recorded a slight increase.
The fare from Molete to Odo-Ona, which was previously N500, is now N600, while the fare from New Garage to Iwo Road has risen from N700 to N800.
Motorists have also begun moving around the city with jerry cans in search of petrol.
Most filling stations that were previously dispensing fuel to motorists in the early hours of the day have now been placed under lock and key.
