The Oyo State Government has stated that Emmanuel Alayande University of Education (EAUED) has secured full accreditation for all 49 academic programmes it presented to the National Universities Commission (NUC) during the accreditation exercise conducted last November.

According to the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the results received by the institution showed that 43 programmes obtained full accreditation, while six programmes secured interim accreditation status.

Prince Oyelade described the development as a major achievement for the university which shows the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance and the delivery of standard education.

He recalled that on December 5, 2022, Governor Makinde signed the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education Bill into law, upgrading the 130 year old institution from Emmanuel Alayande College of Education to a university.

He added that the successful Accreditation aligns with the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde to position the institution as a leading university of education in Nigeria.

He also noted that Oyo State now has three state-owned universities under the present administration showing its dedication to expanding access to quality higher education and investing in human capital development.

The commissioner stressed that the successful accreditation of all programmes confirms the university’s readiness and strengthens confidence in its ability to produce highly skilled professionals and educators capable of contributing meaningfully to national development.
