The Oyo state Police Command In its continued efforts to rid Oyo State of criminals, on Wednesday paraded in Ibadan, nine suspected cultists.

The Oyo State Police Commissioner, CP Vivian Ngozi Onadeko while briefing newsmen at the State Command Headquarters, revealed that the suspected cultists were arrested in Oyo town.

The DPO of Atiba Division of the Oyo State Police Command got hint of cultists gathering to celebrate their handing over and also celebrate initiation of new members, acted promptly and timely, nine of the cultists were arrested.

Commissioner of Police Onadeko emphasized that ”the cultists after thorough interrogation confessed to the crime, and they also confessed that they are all members of Eye Confraternity, some of them were going for initiation while some were to hand over to the new executives.”

Continuing in her speech, she stressed “I will still continue to enjoy parents and guardians to talk to their wards, and to their children, they should know what they are doing, like those ones arrested now, their parents thought they were in school, but you can see what they have ended up doing “.

Further in her speech, CP. Onadeko listed weapons recovered from the cultists as locally made gun, machete, among other dangerous weapons, it was also discovered that some of the cultists also engage in armed robbery intermittently.

In her speech, CP Onadeko promised the residents and citizens of Oyo State their efficient delivery of duties. “So we will continue doing our duties to make sure that Oyo State is safe and secure” she said.
