Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde revealed the reasons his administration made reference to the headquarters of Oyo State Security Network otherwise known as Amotekun Corps in Akinyele Local Government of Oyo State.

Akinyele falls under Oyo Central Senatorial district. Aside the Amotekun headquarters office, the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde has sited one of the bus terminals projects in Ojoo, the State government had completed and commissioned the 65km Moniya-Ijaiye- Iseyin Road while the Federal Government has sited Ibadan Dry Port in the Local Government.

Makinde while speaking at the commissioning of the operative’s headquarters last week, noted that Akinyele LG would soon become the commercial centre of Ibadan adding that the council area will become the richest Local Government in Oyo State.

The Governor was quoted as saying,

“I specifically requested that the Headquarters of Amotekun Corps be sited in Akinyele Local Government Area. Now, let me explain why to you.

”If you look at Ibadan today, you think the centre is at Dugbe. But in ten years time, I can guarantee that the centre of Ibadan will be Akinyele Local Government Area. It will be our own Victoria Island and Ikoyi.

“Write it down and I stand to be challenged later in future. Akinyele Local Government area will be the richest LG in Oyo State in another 10 years” says Governor Seyi Makinde.
