In the year 2020, Oyo state was ranked as one of the top five (5) states in Nigeria that experienced tremendous growth in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) when the state recorded over ₦1 billion monthly in IGR. This tremendous improvement alongside many other state-of-the-art infrastructural developments made in Oyo state is accredited to Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.

Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration resumed office in 2019 and up till now, impressive developments ranging from infrastructural development down to youth empowerment, renovation of the Lekan Salami stadium resurrecting sports in Oyo state, massive agriculturally driven development projects, cleaned environmental hygiene, access to improved educational system, security, access to fast and improved healthcare and general improvement in the state’s social affairs have been extensively recorded in Oyo State.

A quote by John Quincy Adams says, “if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more and become more, you are a true leader”. This quote is a pure reflection of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.

It is noteworthy that since his emergence as the governor of Oyo state, the educational system has improved significantly. Reports have shown that as of 2021, Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration exponentially increased the access to quality education at both primary and secondary levels by 20%.

Another commendable achievement of the Seyi Makinde-led administration is the construction of modern bus terminals, the construction and rehabilitation of roads and bridges, the construction of a computerized VIS center at Idi-ape, and the acquisition of 106 buses for the mass transit scheme.

Also, he improved the healthcare system in Oyo state through the provision of standard medical facilities, employment of well-equipped and seasoned doctors, and the completion of several primary healthcare centers across all local governments in Oyo state.

Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration has proven itself to be a value-driven leadership that continues to deliver top-notch operational security to the people of Oyo state through the implementation of the Oyo state light up project (Installation of street lights all-round Oyo state) to enhance security operations, establishment of an operational citizen emergency toll fee line (615), setting up of security control rooms and the provision of modern equipment for security agencies to fight criminal activities in the state and its environs.

Indeed, it is undisputable that since Governor Seyi Makinde took up the reins of power as the executive governor of Oyo state, he has achieved great strides and made a commendable impact on the lives of the people of Oyo State through his superb development driven model of governance.
