Priotizes his commitment to good governance over the coming election.
Governor Seyi Makinde has assigned the maintenance and rehabilitation of feeder roads in the State to his Deputy, Barr. Bayo Lawal.
The Governor disclosed this in his weekly newsletter where he also revealed that the State has recently received $3.5 million for this project through the World Bank-Assisted Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).
He noted that these projects will kick off in few weeks time as he prioritizes the responsibility of the State Government as mapped out for the first term over the coming elections and his second term ambition.
The Governor explained that the first concentration was on creating a network of roads that link the five zones of the State before moving on to the feeder roads.
He added that alongside the feeder roads, the State Government would also be concentrating on solid waste managements as part of the mandates promised.
The Engineer also appreciated the support of the people of the State towards the infrastructural development and seeks more support towards the coming development in terms of proper waste dumping and registering as volunteers for door-to-door/commercial waste evacuation.
The Engineer also went ahead to warn some Private Sector Participants who were assigned to evacuate waste but have been disengaged, to desist from further encroaching on the activities of the newly assigned solid waste managers. He recognized the only assigned solid waste managers in the State as Mottainai Recycling Ltd.
He reiterated the plan to ensure that the Oyo State maintains its pacesetter status amongst States in Nigeria and promises not to relent until the finish line of his administration in setting standard of good governance.
