Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, has welcomed its new Governing Council, which was inaugurated by Oyo State’s Executive Governor, Seyi Makinde.
During a ceremony held in the Executive Chambers of the Governor’s Office, State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, the Governor established the council.
Governor Makinde, in the person of the State’s Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, inaugurated the newly constituted 10-member Governing Council of the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, and stated that the State Government had carefully chosen individuals of integrity who would add value to the institution. He also added that their main duty was to oversee the institution’s operations and advance its other goals.
The State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Mr. Abdul-Rahaman Abdul-Raheem, stated in his speech that the current Oyo State administration, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, is fully committed to providing high-quality education in the State, despite the limited resources and competition for attention from other areas of State governance.
The newly inaugurated Council’s Chairman, Prof. Ojo Adebowale, praised Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration’s approach to education in his acceptance address, but he also promised that the governing council will carry out its statutory obligations as required.
In his remarks, the Institution’s Rector, Dr. Gbade Akinteye, expressed his gratitude the Governor Seyi Makinde for establishing the institution’s governing council and highlighted that governing councils are essential to the smooth operation of higher education institutions.
