The Oyo State Government has reiterated its commitment to the health sector in the State by ensuring the availability of health centres through out the State.

This was stated by the Acting Governor, Barr. Bayo  Lawal, on Wednesday during the 4th Annual Lecture of the Nwuga Physiotherapy Foundation held at Osuntokun Hall, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (UCH), where he noted that the health sector was also a vital discussion at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum at Abuja where he represented the Governor.

The acting Governor commended the foundation, and also encouraged them to partner with the State Government to improve the health sector.

He also commended the Deputy Provost of the College of Medicine at the University of Ibadan, Professor Adeniyi Fatai, who was present at the conference, for his outstanding feat in his career, and how he effectively balances his academics and local activities, being the President of Kishi Progressive Unions.

He said, “You’ll agree that during the COVID 19 epidemic, we had no choice but to provide professional care; Oyo State and the university teaching hospital both engaged in combat and successfully overcame the pandemic.”

“I want to express how grateful we are for the university hospital on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde. The Oyo State Government’s policy is that by working with an organization like this, we can guarantee the citizens’ good health.

“We are supporting and encouraging the expansion of health centre.

He also went ahead to appreciate the Governor in his absence who has given him the opportunity to serve while he is away, as he finds it overwhelmingly surprising that he was given the capacity to act in place of the Governor in just two months that he was proposed as running mate to the Governor, then a Deputy Governor, and now an Acting Governor.
