The Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) has issued traffic advisory to the motoring public as regards anticipated higher volume of traffic in the State occasioned by the expected visitation of Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State who is to officially commission the just constructed fly-over bridge at General Gas, Akobo axis.

According to the Executive Chairman, OYRTMA, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi Ph.D, “Following preparations for the official commissioning of the fly-over bridge at General Gas, Akobo axis of Ibadan Metropolis tomorrow 15th September, 2022, The Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) has issued traffic advisory to commuters along the axis.

The flyover bridge is scheduled to be closed by 1600hours of today 14th September, 2022 to allow for some finishes by the contractor before its official commissioning tomorrow.

The motoring public are therefore advised to ply alternative routes during this period. For those moving from Akobo inward the bridge, they should navigate to the expressway before the bridge while those coming from Bashorun axis are advised to take access road beside the bridge to link the expressway.

Commuters coming from General Gas are enjoined to use the access road to NNPC filling station along the expressway and navigate their way.

While we regret the inconveniences this might cause motorists and seek the cooperation of all, we assure the public of our sustained effort in conjunction with sister agencies to reduce traffic gridlock that may ensue during the period to its barest minimum.”
